As a blanket statement, we recommend pricing items at about 30% of the original retail cost, and we have a chart on our website. But most of the time, you have no idea what that price was because you have no idea what you even had for breakfast (did you have breakfast?). So, there is no way you know a price from a while back. Start by looking at the company's website that made the item and go from there when pricing items. If you don’t want to have to keep looking back to the website, you can use your calculator on your phone and put in the following equation 20 (original price) x .30 (the % you want) or use your Snapchat AI and ask it “what is 30% of $20?” and it will give you the answer. Either way, that answer is $6. So, to answer the question, I would price the pajama sets between $5 and $8, and I always discount pajamas because what will I do with extra pajamas just waiting for the next sale? Several factors will help me choose my price—do I still have all the pieces, do all the pieces look good, are they like-new or more in good-used condition? We will say no thank you if items are in less than “good-used” condition. I know they would be great just to lounge around in, but that is the stuff people expect to find at yard sales. They should expect more from the consignors at My Mommy Mart.
