First, thank you for signing up to be a helper during our event!
Candice, Katie, Nicole, & Molly
As Nicole will tell you, we could not (and would not want to) do My Mommy Mart without you!
Please park your car behind the building (the end with the restrooms). The MMM trailer will probably be around there somewhere. This allows space for people not helping to get in and out of the parking lot.
You can leave your items in the kitchen, where the sign-in book is. Please sign in & grab a nametag.
There is bottled water & gatorade in the silver fridge. Please put your name or initials on the lid so I know who it belongs to. Some chocolate and other little snacks are on the table. Enjoy!
I truly appreciate all the work everyone puts into this event and I hope you have the best time! 💖
So you chose a helper shift during drop-off - now what?
From the brief description on the website:
Drop-Off Inspector - If you sign up for this shift, you will want to make sure you know the rules about what is and is not accepted. You are detail-oriented and willing to inspect and communicate with consignors about their items. Consignors will place their items on the sales floor, and you will assist in directing them.
Large Item Intake Inspector & Runner: You will help the consignors place their Large Item Claim Tickets on their bigger items, inspect the items, and help them put their items in the correct spot.
The first thing you are going to want to do is check out the link above for how we expect Drop-Off to look for consignors.
This is the basic checklist we use.
DROP-OFF INSPECTOR
Nicole will talk with you briefly and assign your spots. Most of you will be inspecting items. She will try to pair our newbies with our veteran helpers whenever possible. Nicole will be the person checking in consignors and confirming their information. The consignors must see Nicole before they leave so they can get their pass to shop.
Candice is the final say on if we are accepting an item. If you or the consignor have any questions whatsoever about an item, please see Candice. If anyone is rude, please let Nicole or Candice know and they will decide how to proceed.
It is okay to say no to items we do not accept! If you need to do a quick review, you will have laminated paper on your table. Plus, I wrote entire pages on our website about what we do and do not accept.
Large Item Intake Inspector & Runner
If you are assigned this position, you will not stop moving! You will be inspecting and helping the consignors get their large items to the correct places. Most of the large items come in at the other door on the building to keep us moving.
The consignors are supposed to fill out their Large Item Claim Tickets filled out, but some may need assistance. The main parts of your positions are get the item inside, inspect it (make sure its working, clean, etc.), and then place it on the sales floor.
If you have questions and you are in that end of the building, Big Nate is your person. You can’t miss him - he’s the only man who is consistently there. He put in over 30,000 steps setting up for this event. Be nice to him and encourage him to take a break.
